My name is Loura, and if you were to cut me open, you wouldn’t just find veins and—you’d find worn-out train tickets, forgotten boarding passes, and a map written across my heart.
I’ve always felt a strange, magnetic pull toward places I’ve never been. Ever since I was old enough to look out a window and wonder what lay beyond the horizon, the ordinary flow of routine felt like a temporary cage. While others dream of stability, a quiet house with a white picket fence, or a predictable nine-to-five trajectory, my soul thrives in motion. I don’t just like traveling; I need it. It is my air, my creative impulse, and the primary lens through which I make sense of the world.
There is a precise moment during every trip that makes my entire body come alive. It happens when I step off a plane, a train, or a long-distance bus into a completely unfamiliar atmosphere.
However, loving the world and exploring it freely requires a key: financial independence. I realized early on that passion alone cannot buy a ticket across the Atlantic, pay for a trek through Patagonia, or cover a month-long stay in a quiet coastal village in Southern Europe. Freedom has a price tag, and I refuse to let financial limitations constrain the scope of my life.
For me, traveling isn't about collecting resort wristbands or taking quick photos for social media. It’s about total immersion. I want to sit in quiet local tea shops in hidden alleys, listen to elders recount stories of their hometowns, hike until my legs burn just to catch the morning sun painting mountain peaks in gold, and eat meals prepared with secret family recipes passed down through generations. I want to collect perspectives, not souvenirs. Each journey reshapes me, stripping away my biases, challenging my assumptions, and leaving me a little wiser, more empathetic, and more grounded than before.
